What is a Digital Certificate?
It's a computer file developed for the identification of individuals or legal entities in online operations. Some software applications use this file to verify the identity of another person or computer.
What is it used for?
The electronic identity document, e-CPF (Electronic Brazilian Individual Taxpayer Registry) or e-CNPJ (Electronic National Register of Corporate Taxpayers), is used to ensure the authenticity of senders and recipients of documents and data transmitted over the Internet, ensuring their inviolability.
The e-CPF and e-CNPJ were created to facilitate the relationship between taxpayers and the Federal Revenue Service (SRF).
Both e-CPF and e-CNPJ can be used to digitally sign electronic documents.
Digital signature is a mechanism that allows for the verification of the signatory's identity and ensures that the document has not been altered after signing.
